Vivo V40 SE Leaks: Rebranded Y200e 5G or Something New?

The Vivo V30 series only just launched globally, but rumors are already swirling about the upcoming Vivo V40 series. One phone in particular, the Vivo V40 SE, has been spotted in certifications and now leaks have revealed its design and specifications.

Strikingly Similar to the Vivo Y200e 5G:

Leaked images show a design that's quite different from the V30 series. However, it bears a surprising resemblance to the recently launched Vivo Y200e 5G. The blue color option, in particular, looks nearly identical, with a possible light purple shade also rumored.

The similarities extend beyond looks. The V40 SE is rumored to share the same Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip, LPDDR4X RAM, and UFS 2.2 ROM as the Y200e 5G.

The V40 SE is expected to boast a large 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a sharp FHD+ resolution (2400 x 1080 pixels) and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate for a great viewing experience.

On the back, the phone is rumored to sport a triple-camera system featuring a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP lens for portrait or macro shots. For selfies and video calls, a 16MP camera is expected on the front. An in-display fingerprint sensor is also rumored for added security.

Other Features and Potential Launch Date:

The Vivo V40 SE may pack a hefty 5000mAh battery with support for 44W fast charging, keeping you powered up throughout the day. An IP54 dust and water resistance rating is also a possibility.

Other rumored features include a microSD card slot for expandable storage up to 1TB, dual SIM support, Wi-Fi 5GHz, Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C 2.0, and GPS connectivity.

The price for the V40 SE is rumored to fall within the EUR 250 – EUR 300 range for the 8GB/256GB configuration. While an official launch date hasn't been announced, the phone features a UEFA Euro 2024 wallpaper, hinting at a possible launch around the start of the Champions League on June 14th.

Is it a Rebrand?

With so many similarities to the Vivo Y200e 5G, the V40 SE is sparking speculation that it might simply be a rebranded version of that phone. Only time will tell if the V40 SE offers any unique features or if it's truly just the Y200e 5G in a new package.
