Vivo X Fold 3 Lighter than iPhone 15 Pro Max, Slimmer than Galaxy S24 Ultra

The world of foldable phones is about to get lighter, with the upcoming Vivo X Fold 3 series promising to be even lighter than some popular candybar smartphones. Slated for a March 26 launch in China, these phones are generating excitement for their innovative design.

Slim and Light Designs:

Tech insiders in China have leaked details about the dimensions and weight of the X Fold 3 series. The top-of-the-line Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, rumored to boast the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, will reportedly be a mere 11.2mm thick when folded and an incredibly thin 5.2mm when unfolded. Amazingly, its weight is expected to be just 236 grams.

The standard Vivo X Fold 3 might be the real showstopper though. This phone is poised to become the lightest foldable phone ever, weighing in at a featherweight 219 grams. That makes it even lighter than the iPhone 15 Pro Max (221 grams) and the Galaxy S24 Ultra (232 grams). Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, the X Fold 3 is also expected to be incredibly thin. Unfolded, it's rumored to have a profile of just 4.65mm, potentially surpassing the current record holder, the Vivo X5 Max (5.1mm). When folded, the X Fold 3 is expected to be 10.2mm thick.

For comparison, the current leader in the lightweight foldable category is the Honor Magic V2, which weighs 231 grams and is 4.7mm thin unfolded.

A New Era for Foldables?

The Vivo X Fold 3 series represents a significant step forward in foldable phone technology. With their impressive thinness and lightness, these phones could make foldables a more attractive option for a wider range of users. We'll have to wait until the official launch on March 26 to see all the details, but the X Fold 3 series is shaping up to be a game-changer.
