Apple Watch X Renders Tease Sleeker Design and Advanced Features

Apple is rumored to be revamping its smartwatch lineup in 2024, with the upcoming Apple Watch X expected to boast a brand new design, enhanced health tracking features, and a completely redesigned band attachment system.

Apple Watch X:

To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the original Apple Watch launched in 2014, industry insider Mark Gurman suggests Apple may abandon its traditional naming scheme and christen the new device "Apple Watch X."

YouTuber Sam Kohl, known for his Apple product reviews on the channel AppleTrack, collaborated with graphic designer @ConceptCentral to create visualizations depicting what the Apple Watch X might look like based on current rumors and leaks.

Design:

The renders showcase a potentially slimmer design for the Watch X, possibly 10-15% thinner than current models. The Digital Crown, a beloved Apple Watch staple, is expected to remain, with the possibility of an additional Action Button similar to the one featured on the Apple Watch Ultra.

The most significant design change could be the all-new magnetic band system. While this would mean sacrificing compatibility with older bands, it offers significant advantages beyond aesthetics. The current band attachment system occupies valuable internal space within the watch. Magnetic bands eliminate this bulk, potentially allowing for a thinner design and cramming even more features inside.

Display and Battery Life:

Earlier rumors hinted at a microLED display, but due to cost constraints, OLED technology seems more likely. However, the new OLED panel is expected to be brighter and more power-efficient, potentially translating to a longer battery life – a longstanding user concern.

Health Tracking:

Health features have always been a core strength of the Apple Watch, and the Watch X appears to be no exception. It might be the first Apple Watch to offer blood pressure monitoring, although blood oxygen monitoring remains uncertain due to legal issues. Sleep apnea monitoring could also be on the horizon.

It's important to remember that this information is based on leaks and rumors. While some predictions may come true, it's wise to approach them with a healthy dose of skepticism. Stay tuned for further updates as we inch closer to the official reveal of the Apple Watch X.
