Infinix Smart 5A: It’s a green box - 5000mAh battery & JIO exclusive (Rs 550 price support) printed on it. Unboxing - There’s DTS audio printed for a Rs 6-6.5K phone! Infinix needs to work on their packaging according to me. It’s a 6.5” screen, has 5000mAh battery, There’s 8MP dual cameras at the back & a 8MP front selfie sensor. It’s a big phone for the price! There’s a 10W charger, a Micro USB cable & a JIO partnership card. There’s documentation & a sim card tool. And there’s a hard phone case for a Rs 6.5K phone! There’s a scratch guard too & interestingly, a X club dollar bill. Let’s keep everything aside now & look at the phone. Like I said, it’s quite big. Let’s take out the sticker. Design - There’s a fingerprint sensor, it has a plastic back with prism flow design (upside down V). I like the case, it has ridges & let’s see after putting it on! Take a look at it! Build Quality - I’m talking about it in terms of price. Nothing! It’s a very nice cover. You wouldn’t have to buy another case. In

Hand Feel - It’s slightly big for average hands. It'll be fun for big hands. And it feels about 190-195g. Let’s test. It’s 187g. It seems big, but isn’t that heavy.

Ports & Buttons - Below, there’s a speaker grill, micro USB port, a 3.5mm jack & a microphone. On the left, there’s a sim card tray. And there’s no noise cancelling microphone on the top. On the right, there’s a volume rocker (up & down) & a power(on/off) button.

Display - For Rs 6.5K price, I’d say it’s a good 6.5” HD+ IPS LCD display & the colours look good. The brightness of the display is good & you won’t have any problem indoors as well as outdoors.

Specifications - It’s based on Helio A20 SoC, which is old & many budget phones are based on it. It comes with Android Go, which isn’t very power intensive. This variant has 2GB RAM & 32GB storage. And the storage is expandable with a dedicated memory slot.

OS UI - It has a lighter Android version - Android Go 11 & it isn't power intensive and doesn’t consume much CPU power. I used it for a while, the swipes & touches were good. With Android Go(Lite), you get a clean UI experience. The lite Android Go apps are available on this. But I did see some pre-installed apps. So it’s an Android Go edition with some extra apps which you can uninstall! It comes with XOS 7.6 & has some interesting features like 360 degree flash lights (LED on front & back). For privacy, there’s a Secure Card feature, which buffers information to apps which are using your personal information. Basically it’s an extra layer for Banking/Financial apps. And has June's security patch update.

Battery - It has a 5000mAh battery with 10W charging & will easily last 1.5 days under moderate usage. With heavy usage it might last for a day.

Performance - I wouldn’t recommend heavy games on it, but it’s good for light games(Candy Crush, Temple Run etc).

Camera - It has a 8MP+Depth, dual camera setup. And a 8MP selfie sensor in the front. Generally, in the Rs 6-7K price range, you get a 5MP selfie sensor & just a single camera setup on the back. And this one has 8MP front with dual camera at the back, which is good! You can check out the pictures, & for the budget segment these pictures & colours look decent. Yes they’re a little soft, but it’s expected in this price range. Like I said before, there are triple LEDs on the back & dual LEDs on the front, so the selfies will brighten in darkness. You can shoot FHD(1080p) videos, it has AI scene detection modes too.

Sensors - It doesn’t have a Gyroscope, there’s a physical fingerprint sensor on the back & face unlock which work well.

Connectivity - You get dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi calling support & dual band WiFi.

Features - You get Widevine L3 support because of the HD+ screen, you get Camera2Api support too. It has SAR value within limits with a notification light & FM Radio.

Multimedia - You have a 6.5” big screen with DTS audio support, you get mono speakers that are loud. Multimedia viewing & sound experience will be ok outdoors.
During its unboxing, I know that it’ll be priced under Rs 7K. And with it, you get JIO exclusive offer, where you have to use the JIO sim card for 30 months. You’ll be eligible for the Rs 550 cash back with an active Jio sim card (through UPI). For offline store purchasers, you’ll get a direct 550 Rs discount from the actual price. You can use use 2 sim cards - one being Jio & any other 2nd sim card Overall, if it comes around Rs 6-6.5K, looking at the specs its decent, has fingerprint sensor A gyroscope sensor would’ve been better. But there’s not much to complain about!
