X Introduces Audio and Video Calls for Android Users
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Android users can now make calls on X, just like iPhone users.
- X Premium users can make calls, while free users can only receive them.
- Users can decide who can call them by adjusting settings for contacts, verified users, or those they follow.
Social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, has expanded its features to include voice and video calls for Android users. This addition comes after the successful rollout of the same feature for iOS users in October. However, it's important to note that making outgoing calls is a privilege reserved for X Premium subscribers, while users on the free tier can only receive incoming calls.
To access the new audio and video call features, users can navigate to the DM settings tab within the X app. Managing call preferences is made easy through the settings page, where users can control who can reach out to them. Options include allowing calls from individuals in their address book, verified users, and accounts they follow. For a more detailed guide on using audio and video calls, users can refer to the X Help Center.
