Oppo A3 Pro Launched with 120Hz Display, IP69 Rating, and More

Oppo has unveiled a new mid-range smartphone in China, the A3 Pro, that boasts impressive durability features alongside some strong specs. The phone's key highlight is its IP69 certification, making it resistant to high-pressure, high-temperature water jets – a level of water resistance rarely seen in mainstream smartphones.

The Oppo A3 Pro goes beyond the usual IP68 rating, achieving the even more rigorous IP69 certification. This signifies the phone's ability to withstand not just splashes and submersion but also powerful water jets used in industrial cleaning. Oppo claims the A3 Pro is fully waterproof and can endure hot water, soaking, and strong water sprays.

For added peace of mind, the A3 Pro is equipped with Oppo's Crystal Glass protection on both the front and back. Additionally, it holds the distinction of being the first phone to receive the Swiss SGS Gold Label 5-star drop resistance certification. It has also passed a national military standard impact resistance test in China, making it highly resistant to drops and scratches.

The Oppo A3 Pro features a large 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and a crisp FHD+ resolution. The display can deliver up to 950 nits of brightness for a clear viewing experience even in bright outdoor conditions. An in-screen fingerprint sensor is integrated for convenient and secure unlocking.

Under the hood, the A3 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset, offering reliable mid-range performance. Users can choose between 8GB or 12GB of RAM, along with 12GB of virtual RAM for enhanced multitasking. Storage options include 256GB or a whopping 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage, providing ample space for apps, photos, and videos. A 5,000mAh battery keeps the phone running, supported by 67W fast charging for quick power top-ups.

On the camera front, the Oppo A3 Pro sports a 64-megapixel primary sensor on the back, accompanied by a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The front-facing camera for selfies is 8 megapixels. While the front camera can capture FHD video at 30fps, the rear camera can record up to 4K video at 30fps.

The Oppo A3 Pro is currently launched in China only, with no news on a global release yet. It comes in three configurations:

• 8GB RAM + 128GB storage: 1,999 Yuan ($275)
• 12GB RAM + 256GB storage: 2,199 Yuan ($300)
• 12GB RAM + 512GB storage: 2,499 Yuan ($345)

Color options include Azure (glass back), Mountain Blue (leather back), and Yunjin Pink (leather back).
