Samsung Galaxy S24 FE: Expected Features Revealed

Samsung is rumored to be working on the next iteration of its popular Fan Edition smartphone, the Galaxy S24 FE. While there's no official confirmation yet, leaks and reports suggest some interesting features that could be included in the upcoming device.

Design and Display:

Samsung's recent smartphones have followed a consistent design approach, making it difficult to distinguish between flagship and mid-range models. The Galaxy S24 FE is likely to follow suit, adopting a design similar to its predecessor, the S23 FE.

The display size is a bit uncertain. While some rumors suggest a familiar 6.4-inch display like the S23 FE and S21 FE, others hint at a slightly smaller 6.1-inch option. Regardless of size, the display is expected to be a high-quality Dynamic AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution, high peak brightness, and HDR10+ support. It likely will be protected by upgraded Gorilla Glass Victus or Victus 2 compared to the Gorilla Glass 5 on the S23 FE.

Processor and Performance:

The Galaxy S23 FE offered different processor options depending on the market – Exynos 2200 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. There's speculation that the S24 FE might come with just an Exynos chip globally. This could be either the Exynos 2200 or the newer Exynos 2400, which debuted in the Galaxy S24 series.

The Exynos 2400 could bring significant performance improvements, especially in graphics processing and overall CPU power. It might also boast a better NPU for on-device AI applications. However, Samsung could also stick with the Exynos 2200 or even switch to a Snapdragon 8 Gen chip. RAM is also rumored to get a bump to 12GB LPDDR5X, compared to the 8GB in the S23 FE. Storage options might include 128GB and 256GB, with the latter potentially using faster UFS 4.0 technology.

Camera:

The Galaxy S23 FE saw a significant upgrade in the primary camera, jumping from 12MP to 50MP. The rest of the camera system remained fairly similar. Leaks suggest the S24 FE might not see any major changes in the camera department. It could stick with the same 50MP main sensor found in the S23 series, offering reliable image quality.

Software and AI:

The Galaxy S24 FE is expected to launch with the latest Android 14 operating system and receive updates for at least four major Android versions. It might also come with Samsung's AI features, such as Browsing Assist, Chat Assist, and Circle to Search with Google, which enhance the user experience.

Other Features:

Battery life is an area where Samsung might not make significant changes. The S24 FE is rumored to have a similar 4,500mAh battery with 25W fast charging and 15W wireless charging as its predecessor.

An official launch date hasn't been revealed yet, but rumors suggest the phone might arrive sometime in the latter half of 2024.

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is shaping up to be a compelling option for those seeking a balance between affordability and high-end features. With a powerful processor (potentially), a quality AMOLED display, and the latest software, the S24 FE could be a strong contender in the mid-range smartphone market.
